Sofosbuvir and velpatasvir sometimes use in people who also have HIV. This medicine is not a treatment for HIV or AIDS.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"fade in\">\n<p>It is a fixed-dose combination tablet containing sofosbuvir and velpatasvir for oral administration. Sofosbuvir is a nucleotide analog HCV NS5B polymerase inhibitor and velpatasvir is an NS5A inhibitor.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h3 class=\"ac-header\">Pharmacology<\/h3>\n<p>It is a fixed-dose combination tablet containing sofosbuvir and velpatasvir for oral administration. Sofosbuvir is a nucleotide analog HCV NS5B polymerase inhibitor and velpatasvir is an NS5A inhibitor.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fade in\">\n<h3>Indications<\/h3>\n<p>Panovir combination indicate for the treatment of adult patients with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) genotype 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 infection<br \/>\n&#8211; without cirrhosis or with compensated cirrhosis<br \/>\n&#8211; with decompensated cirrhosis for use in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.drugs.com\/mtm\/sofosbuvir-and-velpatasvir.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">combination with ribavirin<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fade in\">\n<h4>Dosage &amp; Administration<\/h4>\n<p>The recommended dosage is one tablet of <a href=\"https:\/\/emergencydrug.com\/sofosbuvir-velpatasvir-panovir-tablet\/\">Panovir (400 mg of Sofosbuvir and 100 mg of Velpatasvir)<\/a> taken orally once daily. Recommended treatment regimen:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Patients without cirrhosis and patients with compensated <a href=\"https:\/\/emergencydrug.com\/ledipasvir-and-sofosbuvir-twinvir-tablet\/\">cirrhosis (Child-Pugh A) &#8211; one tablet<\/a> once daily for 12 weeks<\/li>\n<li>Patients with decompensated cirrhosis (Child-Pugh B or C) &#8211; one tablet once daily and Ribavirin for 12 weeks. The recommended dosage of Ribavirin is based on <a href=\"https:\/\/emergencydrug.com\/sofosbuvir-hopetavir-tablets-400mg\/\">bodyweight (1000 mg\/day for patients &lt; 75 kg<\/a> and 1200 mg\/day for \u2265 75 kg, in two divided dose\/day)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>No dosage recommendation can give for patients with severe renal impairment (eGFR \u2264 30 mL\/min\/1.73 m2) or with ESRD, due to higher exposures of the <a href=\"https:\/\/emergencydrug.com\/the-efficiency-of-ledipasvir-and-sofosbuvir-for-chronic-hepatitis-c\/\">predominant sofosbuvir metabolite<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fade in\">\n<h4>Side Effects<\/h4>\n<p>The most common side effects of <a href=\"https:\/\/emergencydrug.com\/hepatitis-c-causes-symptoms-and-treatments-part-1\/\">Panovir combination include headache and tiredness<\/a>. Treatment may result in slowing of the heart rate along with other <a href=\"https:\/\/emergencydrug.com\/hepatitis-c-symptoms-causes-and-treatments-part-2\/\">symptoms<\/a> when taken with amiodarone (a medicine used to treat certain heart problems).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fade in\">\n<h4>Precautions<\/h4>\n<p>Serious symptomatic bradycardia may occur in patients taking amiodarone, particularly in patients also receiving beta blockers, or those with underlying cardiac comorbidities and\/or advanced liver disease. Co-administration of amiodarone with Sofosbuvir and Velpatasvir combination not recommend. In patients without <a href=\"https:\/\/emergencydrug.com\/the-efficiency-of-ledipasvir-and-sofosbuvir-for-chronic-hepatitis-c\/\">alternative viable treatment options, cardiac monitoring<\/a> is recommended.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fade in\">\n<h4>Use in Pregnancy &amp; Lactation<\/h4>\n<p>No adequate human data are available to establish whether or not Sofosbuvir and Velpatasvir combination poses a risk to pregnancy outcomes. If Sofosbuvir and Velpatasvir combination administered with Ribavirin, the combination regimen contraindicated in pregnant women and in men whose female partner is pregnant or going to be pregnant in next six months.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fade in\">\n<h4>Drug Interaction<\/h4>\n<p>Drugs may decrease the concentrations of Panovir : Antacids, H2-receptor antagonists, Proton-pump inhibitors etc.<br \/>\nCoadministration is not recommended with: topotecan, Carbamazepine, Phenytoin, Phenobarbital, Oxcarbazepine, Rifabutin, Rifampin, Rifapentine, efavirenz, Tipranavir, Ritonavir, Hypericum perforatum.<br \/>\nCoadministration of Sofosbuvir and Velpatasvir combination, with Rosuvastatin, Atorvastatin may significantly increase the concentration of Rosuvastatin, Atorvastatin.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fade in\">\n<h4>Overdose Effect<\/h4>\n<p>If overdose occurs the patient must monitor for evidence of toxicity. Treatment of overdose includes monitoring of vital signs as well as observation of the <a href=\"https:\/\/emergencydrug.com\/contact-us\/\">clinical status of the patient<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fade in\">\n<h4>Storage<\/h4>\n<p>Store in a cool and dry place (preferably below 30\u00b0C).
